VIJAY’S TELUGU MARKET

Before Vijay did not have a good market in Telugu Industry. Snehithudu (Nanban) is the 1^st big release for Vijay in Telugu. Due to Shankar’s brand name, the movie grossed more than 15 Cr as same as Tupaki too collected more than 15 Cr .but the fancy rates for the buyers overall these two movies were considered as an above average at the Box office.

The next released was Anna (Thalaiva).This is an average business with the total collection of 6 Cr due to the high theatrical rights. At the time the movie was not released in Tamilnadu and many fans near to Andhra went there and watched.

Last two years there were no Telugu release for Vijay.24^th July Jilla Telugu was released with some changes like 20 minutes of the movie trimmed and include the scenes of Bramanantham. R.B Chowdri has released the movie with other two Telugu producers.

The theatrical rights sold out for just 1.8 to 2 Cr only. Because the movie is 18 months old. But surprisingly the movie doing well at the box office without any big promotions.

The movie collected a share of 2Cr (gross 3.5 Cr) within 5 days and now it is into a profit zone. Expexted to collect the share of 2.5 to 3Cr and Gross will be 4.5 to 5 Cr.

Note-Jilla is the 1^st clean Hit for Vijay in Telugu.
